In the time of smartphones, tablets and the “always connected,” even a food business can get the word out using modern digital communication tools. This is what is happening with the San Leonardo Dairy, one of the most important dairy producers in the province of Salerno. The company, which has been active in the area for almost 30 years and is the only dairy with production headquarters within the city, has chosen to creatively dialogue with its many social users, updating them daily on its activities but, above all, always promoting in an original way the launch of new products and succulent dairy specialties, all strictly Made in Salerno. “Social media, for our company, is an important channel to reach the largest number of users,” says the head of San Leonardo Dairy, Giacomo La Marca. With the support of Stratego Communication, we created very effective food marketing campaigns, which then went viral.” The reference is to the “Zizzalat” and the “Heart of Pearls,” the latest two social cases of the San Leonardo Dairy, which have been very successful among followers. “For the Zizzalat, a double buffalo mozzarella that resembles the shape of a female breast, we decided to ride the wave of the photos stolen from some stars of the show business,” explains Giacomo La Marca, “pretending that our page had been attacked by a hacker and thus unveiling the image of the new product, launched at the same time as the opening of our new store in Mercatello, the eighth within the city. On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, we also created a special product. A heart-shaped mozzarella that contains a tasty filling of buffalo milk beads inside: our special tribute to the festival of lovers.” A product, the one made on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, that literally sold out: “Many people, after seeing the posts on facebook, contacted us to request the product. The result? They were finished in a few hours – smiles Giacomo La Marca – and it was a real success, because for our customers the pearl heart represented an original way to say ‘I love you’ to their loved one.”
